I’m a sixteen year old with a passion for photography. I learn something new every time I press that shutter button, and it’s that learning that keeps me going. And the connection that pictures provide me to the people and places that I cherish.

I’ve lived in Laguna Beach for the past six years or so, but before that I moved around quite a bit. I was born in SoCal but moved to Colorado when I was three. We stayed there for a few years and I absolutely loved it. We did a lot of hiking and fishing up in the Rocky Mountains, and I soon grew an everlasting love for the wilderness.

Then, the summer between kindergarten and 1st grade, we decided to move out to Virginia. At first I was bummed, but as soon as we got out there to look for a house, I instantly fell in love. We bought an awesome house not too far from the Appalachian Mountains and had a really great couple of years. My mom homeschooled my older brother and me the first year we lived out there. That year was extremely fun, and we did a lot of not-so-traditional schoolwork and helping out with the community. The next year, we went to an amazing private school in Charlottesville for most of the year, until my dad lost his job because of the economy crash in 2008. We moved back to Colorado for the rest of my 2nd grade and did a lot more fishing and hiking in the Rockies. The next summer, we came out to California to visit my family, and my brother and I loved being out here again so much that we convinced our parents to move back. So we packed our bags and stuffed the moving truck once more and moved to Laguna. And we’ve lived here ever since.

In the summer before 7th grade (2013) I got my first camera. It was a Canon Rebel T3i, and it was the best purchase I have ever made. Within the first few months of owning it, I learned how to use it and the way it works simultaneously with the lens (I credit most of it to my good friend Reece Bolin for teaching me how to use it) and started taking some pictures that my friends and family thought were really good. But, more than anything, I just loved the way I could capture a moment and portray it the way I felt it should be. I then learned the basics of Photoshop and that really took my work to a whole new level. Since then, I have been striving to improve my technique in creating the initial composition to my skill in editing to make something that speaks to not only me, but to people around the world. Someday, I would like to turn my passion into a career and spend the rest of my life mastering the art.

I currently have a Sony A7 with a Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 and a Rokinon 85mm f/1.4. I use a Sirui T-025X tripod. All photos are edited in Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop on my Mac Mini.
